End of Day: 1st April (updated)

It's an especially early end of day from me today because we've got a very special VIP coming in later and we're likely to be royally occupied with the visit. So, without getting too giddy, here's Brad with the CSC 'end of day': What a morning it's been - having a red carpet in the entrance is a bit of a logistical access problem I have to admit.  Keeping Comms' scruffy feet off it is proving harder than anyone anticipated I think. However, as exciting as this is, customer care, as ever, is our focus priority and here is the list of Top 5 issues reported today:

  1. Faults - always in the top five as customers call to check updates, to arrange BT engineer visits or for general help and advice.  Don't forget, if you ever have an intermittent fault, to check faults.plus.net for some essential tips on things to check.
  2. Sales - a lot of calls on recommendation from other customers as well as from the press (we've been covered in a lot of ‘best buy' type articles on the back of all those recent awards).
  3. Usernames and Passwords - customers who have forgotten their passwords, or to verify the broadband username/realm.
  4. Router Setups - Customers calling for help setting up their new router or modem. Remember folks, Voyager 105 modems don't work on Windows Vista.
  5. Mailboxes and Email - Customers requesting help setting up email clients, wanting help with mailboxes and a few general queries regarding mailboxes.

Marketing, and here's Martyn: What's going on - the end of day at 11am?  Well, we're going to be busy this afternoon with a very special visitor coming to open the new North Wing in PlusNet Towers. We've got a red carpet in the entrance and James has been sent to the pet shop to get some dog chews; not sure what that's all about. Neil and the management team are upstairs practising etiquette for the big meet and greet - who'd have guessed that the management team would ever be wearing ties to work? The rest of us are just getting on with trying to be the best broadband provider on the land. Who knows, maybe we'll get the royal seal of approval. Dave (Tommo) Tomlinson, gives us the lowdown on Products' day so far: Maria, Rich and Ian have been in a review meeting looking at Terms and Conditions.  Rich and Ian have also been looking at VoIP and our plans to develop the platform over the next quarter.  I've been looking at graphs (I spend my life looking at graphs), capacity planning and forecasting.  And this afternoon, after the opening of the new North Wing, the team will be looking at erm.. products (no, really!). Right, that's all I've time for now.. I'll try to pop back and update this later.  I'm off now to help organise the buffet. Pete   update: That was amazing!  Did you catch a glimpse on the webcams?  Here's a picture of Nigel meeting our special guest earlier.. Nigel & Her Majesty
